“Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structure.”

  1. Timeless Statements like this are what it takes to purify and prepare the souls of men for nation building. Compare the soul damaging effect of ‘IT IS A DO-DIE AFFAIR’ or ‘I DON’T CARE A DIME’ from our past and current presidents!

I totally agree with you Ekpein Appah. I recall the elections where Al Gore lost a deciding count in a state where the rivals brother was Governor. To most of us observers watching in Nigeria, the outcome was predictable. The interesting thing was that Al Gore immidiately conceded defeat, congratulated the winner and moved on.Same with Hillary Clinton and President Obama, John Mccain and Presiden Obama. Not that the USA is the perfect democracy, but from the minute te results were announced till this morning, the losers in Nigerian elections have continously threaten fire and brimstone. A generation has to take over this peace initiative, the ‘hippies” did it in the 70`s and it radicallised the thinking of the world. Perhaps a generation needs to think outside of the box, or indeed just think and get us on the path of mental and social development.
